Introduction to Cultivating Safe Spaces eCourses
Two Ways to Begin with Cultivating Safe Spaces
People learn in different ways. Our two Intro to CSS eCourses offer the same foundational framework through two different learning experiences: one experiential, drawn from a live session with Elaine, for $199 and one structured and self-paced for $149.
Both courses meet the Intro to CSS prerequisite for CSS Train the Trainer.
Special Edition: Intro to CSS ($199)
People learn in different ways. Some people want structure and a clear curriculum. Others learn best by watching real people work through real moments and seeing how the teaching actually comes alive in a room.
The Special Edition Intro to Cultivating Safe Spaces is for people who learn through experience.
Built from a recorded live session with Elaine Alec, this seven-lesson course gives you the opportunity to experience the CSS framework as it is actually taught. You’ll hear the questions people ask, watch different perspectives emerge, and see how the teachings are applied as people reflect, respond, and work through the material together.
Rather than simply memorizing the framework, you’ll begin to understand what CSS looks like in practice.
Elaine walks through the Four Necessary Conditions, Four Protocols, and Four Perspectives, while also exploring trauma, regulation, relationships, responsibility, and what happens when people are trying to stay connected and think clearly through difficult moments.
You’ll see how trauma can show up in the body, how our perspectives influence the way we interpret situations, and how we can return to patience, understanding, and responsibility when we become reactive or overwhelmed.
This is the closest online experience to participating in an in-person CSS session with Elaine.

Intro to Cultivating Safe Spaces ($149)
People learn in different ways. Some people learn best through conversation and experience. Others want a clear structure, focused lessons, and time to work through ideas independently.
The Intro to Cultivating Safe Spaces eCourse offers a structured, self-paced introduction to the foundations of CSS.
Through short teaching videos, worksheets, diagrams, and reflection, you’ll learn the core framework and begin exploring how CSS applies to the way we understand ourselves, relate to other people, respond under stress, and make decisions.
The course introduces the Four Necessary Conditions, Four Protocols, and Four Perspectives, along with foundational teachings on identity, belonging, trauma, the brain, and regulation.
You’ll explore why people can respond so differently to the same situation, what happens in the brain and body when we feel threatened or overwhelmed, and how greater awareness of ourselves can help us respond with more patience, responsibility, and choice.
The course is designed to give you a clear foundation without requiring previous knowledge of CSS.
You can work through each lesson at your own pace, pause for reflection, and return to the material as needed.
